In June 2017, Vismarin commenced a project in Bulungan, East Kalimantan, which was completed in 2020. The company was responsible for the preliminary designs and operational planning for the factory and supporting infrastructure, including a water catchment, roads, and facilities for employees such as a creche, school, health units, and playgrounds, creating a supportive environment. The factory includes a jetty to receive Fresh Fruit Bunches (FFB) and goods, as well as dispatch crude palm oil and palm kernel via barge and vessels.

Project Highlight

This project required innovative approaches due to the factory’s proximity to local fisheries, vital to the area’s economy. The team implemented strategic data collection and eco-sensitive designs to protect prawn, crab, and fish populations, ensuring the factory’s waste did not disrupt the marine environment. By carefully integrating infrastructure, the project safeguarded the local ecology while fulfilling the client’s requirements and supporting the business and local communities.
